A Unique Bed and Breakfast in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We discovered Casita Chamisa when seeking an interesting accommodation in Albuquerque. Although we've been to Albuquerque many times, this was the first time we wanted to try a B&B. Our only regret is that we didn't discover Casita Chamisa years ago. Arnold's B&B reflects the vitality, joy and intellect he and his late wife, Kit, brought to their world. While the setting is classically southwestern, all the rooms and the house display international art and artifacts. An added attraction for anyone intrigued by southwestern Puebloan history is the archaeological excavation conducted in the 1970s - 80s at the site. And as if all this wasn't enough, there's a pool to relax in which can be easily accessed for a private hour or two. Arnold's breakfasts are divine, including his blue corn pancakes! Don't be in a hurry if you stay here. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy your room, your host and your setting - it's a great experience!

A country-style continental breakfast is served on a plant-filled, enclosed, glass-covered patio, or, in winter, in the dining room of the historic adobe main house.

Breakfast includes steaming pots of coffee or tea, fresh fruit in season, juice, and features Arnold's justly-famous sourdough bread toasted and served with homemade jams, and honey from the beehives in the orchard. Arnold’s rotating menu also includes such items as coffeecakes or muffins hot from the oven, and sourdough waffles or blue corn pancakes straight off the griddle.

Guests are invited to swim in the attached indoor heated swimming pool, lounge in the hot tub, or sunbathe outside on the redwood decks. Flower gardens and the orchard are places to wander.

Finally, Casita Chamisa is a pet friendly bed and breakfast, contact us for more details.
